Kollywood singers make it big in Bollywood

South is invading north in terms of music, one has to say. With composers such as A R Rahman and Ilayaraja are already too popular in Bollywood, Tamil singers are now making their presence felt in Hindi film industry. A look at recent hits in Bollywood stand testimony to our claim.

While veteran S P Balasubrahmanyam crooned the title song of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express', Chinmayi has lent her voice to the super hit 'Titli...' song from the same film. Naresh Iyer hogged the limelight in Bollywood with 'Roobaroo...' in 'Rang De Basanti', and Shwetha Mohan sung 'Yun Hi Re...' in 'David'. 'Badtameez...' from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and other numbers in 'Cocktail', 'Heroine' and 'YJHD' are associated with Benny Dayal, while Karthik is remembered for 'I am in Love...' from 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai'.

And Pooja Vaidyanath has sung 'Tum Tak' from 'Raanjhnana', which had music by Rahman. Need we say more to prove the dominance of southern signers in Bollywood?
